Martin / 1998 D-45 Brazilian Rosewood
The D-45 was introduced as a regular model in 1938.
This guitar is a reproduction of that original D-45.
It boasts a different elegance and look from the D-45 we know today, so we're introducing it to you.
-Top made from premium wood
The top is made of Englemann spruce, with a beautiful amber-like color.
The fine, even grain is a sight to behold.
The body binding is made of ivory, and the purfling is decorated with abalone shell.
The pickguard features a painted tortoiseshell pattern.
It's thin enough that you can see the textured grain of the spruce.
The sides and back are luxuriously crafted from rare Jacaranda, with its captivatingly unique striped grain.
The binding and purfling, like the top, are made from ivoroid and abalone shell.
The fingerboard is made of ebony and features snowflake inlays, which were first introduced around 1938. The sides of the fingerboard are decorated with ivoroid binding and abalone shell.
The specification was changed to hexagonal inlays in 1939, so this model's design reaffirms that it is a reproduction of the original D-45.
The neck is made of mahogany, with a soft V-shape that's just the right thickness for a comfortable fit.
The bridge is made of ebony, with snowflake inlays on the ends and a long saddle.
The rosewood veneered headstock features an ivoroid cell and abalone shell accents, while the vertical logo adds a touch of elegance.
The tuning machines are Waverly open-back tuners, giving the guitar an authentic look.
With its pre-war D-45-like looks and beautiful finish, this guitar exudes a charm unlike any other D-45.
The tone is lively and vibrant, making it an instrument you'll want to play forever.
