This guitar started life as Gibson Historic ES '63-335 with the serial number inside the guitar body being on orange paper and numbered A-36018. At the time it was new.

The project that I set about on executing was to build an affordable version of the Clapton/Cream ES-335 that Eric started using toward the end of the band's time. It was featured in the final shows at RAH in London. It took a while to collect many of the items as I sought to buy historically accurate artifacts

The tuners shown on it are genuine Grover Rotomatic vintage tuners. The Hare Krishna stamp is genuine and was sourced from the same place in England that George Harrison originally obtained his from (a Hare Krishna disciple I found in England). From very good photos taken of the original guitar, I was able to create a metal stamp to replicate the correct serial number on the headstock. Marks made on the headstock were similarly faithfully copied. The truss rod cover is vintage and is two-layer black over white plastic with "Custom" in white. This was obtained off a high-end Gibson model from the late 1950s.

The guitar case was bought directly from a Gibson employee as part of a prototype run that was done at the time and overruns were sold directly to Gibson employees. This is identical to the 175 limited edition cases Gibson sold with their Custom Shop guitars for about $20,000.

I am happy to talk to any interested buyers about the guitar, the project, any additional photos required. I'd love to get this into the hands of a fellow Clapton fan who can get use from this.

I took everything to UPS to get a shipping quote, which is $250 for USA plus $2.50/$100 final sale price/value.

If you live in the San Diego area, you are welcome to see this locally and save shipping costs if you buy it.

I'LL SELL BOTH GUITARS IN MY SHOP FOR A COMBINED $6500 PLUS SHIPPING IF A BUYER TAKES BOTH.
