EVH USA Custom Shop Wolfgang 2H FR - Black Metallic #WG17706A

The EVH USA Custom Shop Wolfgang 2H FR in Black Metallic (Model #5101025030) is a no-compromise performance machine built for players who demand elite craftsmanship, explosive tone, and unmistakable stage presence. Part of the Wolfgang® USA Custom Shop Series, this instrument embodies the high-performance spirit associated with Eddie Van Halen while delivering modern precision and premium appointments throughout. Finished in a deep Black Metallic high-gloss urethane, the guitar radiates a sleek, aggressive elegance that pairs perfectly with its gold hardware accents.

The foundation begins with a genuine mahogany body capped by a beautifully carved soft-leaf maple arch-top, creating a tonal blend of warmth, sustain, and articulate attack. The oil-finished genuine mahogany bolt-on neck is engineered for speed and comfort, featuring heavy-rolled shoulders and a hand-rubbed feel that invites effortless movement up and down the fretboard. Measuring .805" at the 3rd fret and .890" at the 12th fret, the neck profile provides a substantial yet fluid grip that supports both rhythm authority and lead precision. Graphite reinforcement rods flank a dual-action, wheel-adjust truss rod for long-term stability and easy on-the-fly adjustments.

The ebony fingerboard offers a fast, glassy playing surface and is adorned with pearloid and black EVH® striped block inlays, delivering bold visual contrast against the dark backdrop. Twenty-two stainless-steel vintage frets ensure exceptional durability, smooth bends, and articulate note definition. White side dots provide clear visibility under stage lighting, while the distinctive Wolfgang® 3+3 headstock completes the guitar’s unmistakable silhouette.

Built for expressive performance, the instrument features a locking Floyd Rose® nut paired with a gold EVH® Floyd Rose® flush-mount bridge for rock-solid tuning stability under even the most aggressive dive bombs and vibrato techniques. The inclusion of the EVH® D-Tuna allows instant drop-D tuning capability without sacrificing stability. Gold EVH® tuning keys complement the hardware package, while black speed knobs and a gold 3-way toggle switch provide intuitive control and striking visual contrast.

Tonally, this Wolfgang 2H FR is outfitted with a gold-covered Seymour Duncan JB Model in the bridge and a gold-covered Seymour Duncan 59 Model in the neck. The JB Model™ delivers searing mids, tight low end, and harmonically rich sustain—perfect for high-gain leads and punchy rhythm work—while the ’59 Model™ offers smooth warmth, clarity, and vintage-inspired articulation. Together, they create a versatile sonic platform capable of everything from articulate cleans to roaring overdrive with authority and nuance.

Capped with the EVH® Custom Shop logo and housed in a molded hardshell case, the EVH USA Custom Shop Wolfgang 2H FR – Black Metallic stands as a refined, high-performance instrument built for serious players. With its premium tonewoods, precision engineering, and commanding aesthetic, it delivers the feel, tone, and reliability demanded on the world’s biggest stages.
