The Paul Reed Smith Special Semi-Hollow in Fire Smokeburst is a sophisticated and sonically expansive instrument that embodies PRS’s finest craftsmanship and innovative design. Built for players who demand exceptional tonal range, refined aesthetics, and premium playability, this guitar strikes a perfect balance between vintage warmth, modern precision, and stage-ready versatility.

The body features semi-hollow construction with a single F-hole, delivering a sweetened high-end response, enhanced resonance, and a touch of airy acoustic character that sets it apart from fully solidbody models. The back is carved from mahogany, known for its warm, mid-focused tone, and it’s topped with a meticulously carved violin-style Maple Ten Top—the pinnacle of PRS’s top selection. The Fire Smokeburst finish highlights the dramatic figuring of the maple with its rich, dark blue edges and striking burst center, resulting in a bold yet elegant visual statement.

The neck is crafted from a single piece of mahogany and shaped in PRS’s popular Pattern profile, offering a full, comfortable grip that feels substantial without being bulky. Measuring 7/8" at the nut, the neck transitions smoothly up the rosewood fretboard with a 10" radius—ideal for both chord work and expressive bends. Iconic Bird inlays and an inlaid PRS signature on the headstock give the guitar its unmistakable PRS identity.

Tonally, the Special Semi-Hollow is one of the most versatile instruments in the PRS lineup, featuring a unique triple-pickup configuration: two McCarty III humbuckers in the treble and bass positions, and a PRS Narrowfield® pickup in the middle. This setup offers a rich tonal palette—from thick, vintage-inspired humbucker tones to the articulate, chimey clarity of a single-coil—without the noise. With a 5-way blade selector switch, along with two mini-toggle coil-split switches, the guitar unlocks a wide array of humbucking and single-coil combinations. Whether you're going for warm jazz cleans, bluesy crunch, or cutting lead tones, this guitar delivers with nuance and detail.

Premium hardware appointments include the ultra-stable PRS Gen III Patented Tremolo bridge, Phase III locking tuners, and hybrid hardware—a tasteful mix of nickel and gold for a refined, distinctive aesthetic. The PRS nut and Signature 10–46 strings ensure smooth performance and consistent tuning stability.

Finished in high-gloss nitro for a thin, resonant surface that enhances the guitar’s tonal response, and housed in a PRS hardshell case, the Special Semi-Hollow in FIre Smokeburst is an extraordinary instrument—visually captivating, tonally rich, and crafted for serious musicians. It’s equally suited for the stage, studio, or collection, and is a testament to PRS’s ongoing commitment to innovation, quality, and musical inspiration.
