The Martin HD12-28 is a celebration of the 12-string tradition, pairing lush, shimmering tone with the robust voice of a dreadnought body. Revered for its ability to fill a room with rich, cascading harmonics, this model is a go-to for players who want to layer their sound with natural chorus-like effects, whether fingerpicking delicate arpeggios or strumming open chords. With its solid Sitka spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, the HD12-28 delivers outstanding clarity, depth, and projection, all elevated by Martin’s refined Standard Series craftsmanship.

The updated 2025 edition enhances comfort and tone, borrowing modern appointments from the Modern Deluxe Series while preserving the HD heritage. The GE Modified Low Oval neck with High-Performance Taper offers smooth playability across the fretboard, while the shorter 24.9” scale length reduces tension for easier fretting — especially welcome on a 12-string. Visually, the HD12-28 balances tradition and elegance, with bold herringbone purfling, antique white binding, diamond-and-square abalone inlays, and a faux tortoise pickguard that all nod to Martin’s legacy.

Whether you're a singer-songwriter looking to enrich your arrangements or a studio player layering tracks, the HD12-28 stands as one of the finest choices in the world of 12-string acoustics. Available now at Haggerty’s Music, this 12-string beauty ships with a molded hardshell case for convenient transport and premium protection.
