Fender Japan 1991-92 “Order Made” ’62 Reissue Precision Bass – Lake Placid Blue Sparkle w/ Matching Headstock

Here’s a rare and beautiful one — a custom-order Fender Japan ‘62 Reissue Precision Bass, built at the renowned Fujigen Gakki factory in Japan around 1991-92 (MIJ “L”-serial).

This bass features an eye-catching Lake Placid Blue Sparkle finish and a matching headstock — a combination you almost never see on a Fender Japan instrument. It’s got that vintage aura with plenty of character.

As you’d expect from a 30+-year-old instrument, it shows honest wear and aging: a bit of yellowing in the finish, some sticker shadows, minor dings and pickguard marks. The knobs have been replaced. Neck is straight, truss rod is fine, and there’s plenty of life in the frets. Structurally and electrically sound — no drama.

I’ve also installed an upgraded Emerson harness for improved tone and reliability.
