Up for sale is this vintage 1967 Hagstrom III electric guitar. This is an excellent player-grade instrument that does have some changes, so please be sure to read the entire description and see all of the photos.

This instrument has had a body-only refin of fairly-amateur quality. While it looks good from a few feet away, up close the body wasn't sanded completely smooth and there are numerous dips and dives and this can be seen in the photos. It's honestly kind of artsy. That being said, the body retained its shape and it's just on the front and the back. The finish on the neck is original, thankfully, and has that great worn-in feel that only a vintage instrument can provide. The instrument has a non-original knob, a non-original bridge, a non-original tremolo arm, and a pair of mis-matched strap buttons. The tuner covers have also been removed, but the tuners are original. The pole pieces on the middle pickup look odd (sunken in) but the pickup is original and functions perfectly.

Our tech just went over this one and sprayed out the electronics, installed a fresh set of strings, and adjusted the set up. The neck is straight and the guitar plays great with comfortable, low action all the way up the neck. He did note that, while most of the switches work, a few are a bit troublesome as is very common on these vintage Hagstrom instruments. All three pickups work perfectly as intended and sound great. We were honestly going to part this guitar out but, since it's one of the better playing Hagstrom instruments that we've had come.through, we just couldn't bring ourselves to do it.

The original Hagstrom case is included. The case is in fair condition but does show heavy wear. All of the latches work as they should and the case is perfectly sturdy.

Overall, not a perfect example by any means, but a great player that could easily be someones main axe...
