I am offering a Gibson Custom Shop Advanced Jumbo Maple Custom from 2015, a limited to only 65 pieces all solid timber acoustic guitar built at the Gibson Custom Shop in Bozeman, Montana (USA), with legendary slope shoulder dreadnought design, selected “AA” Adirondack red spruce top, sides and back made from impressively flamed Oregon curly maple, set-in mahogany neck with modified “V” neck profile and 43.8mm bone nut, bound rosewood fingerboard with arrows and diamonds inlays, long 648mm scale length, gold Schaller Grand Tune tuners and L.R. Baggs VTC Element pickup system in a brilliant antique natural high-gloss nitro finish in mint collector's condition with black Gibson custom deluxe hardshell case, manufacturer's papers and professional setup with 12-gauge Elixir strings.
The Custom Shop Advanced Jumbo is a breathtaking incarnation of the icon of Gibson's Round Shoulder acoustic line. The popular all-solid Round Shoulder Acoustic Gibson AJ was first introduced in 1936 in a small edition of 300 as a response to C.F. Martin's Dreadnought and is now considered an absolute classic. Essentially a J-45 with a longer 648 mm scale length, the AJ with its large dynamic range and warm mids is now an indispensable part of Gibson's acoustic range.
Unlike the 1930s original with a mahogany body, this custom model features a back and sides made from selected flamed maple from Oregon and an extremely resonant Adirondack red spruce top. The fantastic woods and high-quality workmanship of the Gibson Bozeman Custom Shop workshop enable a wonderfully rich, warm, and exceptionally powerful sound, in which bell-like highs with complex overtones are particularly well brought to the fore. The rounded body also ensures beautiful projection and versatile bright, warm tones with a subtle but dynamic range of timbres – ideal for all types of strumming and picking!
A sound sample of the model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.
The bound rosewood fingerboard with elaborate custom mother-of-pearl AJ inlays is extremely easy and comfortable to play thanks to the stronger modified “V”-shaped mahogany neck with a 43.8mm bone nut and the longer 648mm scale length.
The guitar also comes factory-equipped with an L.R. Baggs VTC pickup system, delivering a clear, authentic acoustic sound for live performances.
Visually, the tonewood grain is beautifully accentuated by the thin antique natural nitro finish and is complemented by lovely details such as the Schaller Grand Tune gold tuners, the traditional AJ Firestripe pickguard and the vintage Gibson script logo on the headstock.
Truly perfect in terms of sound, playability, and aesthetics—a genuine Gibson Custom Shop AJ that you can grow old with.
