Offered is a beautiful 2014 G&L USA MJ-4 Jazz Bass in excellent condition. Made in Fulllerton, CA, serial number CLF069XXX (available to the buyer). Sought after by professionals and G&L collectors in the know, this is G&L's renowned active American Jazz Bass, with hum-cancelling Alnico V Jazz pickups complimented by an 18v 3-band studio quality MJ-spec preamp. The controls are master volume, pickup blend, and bass/mid/treble EQ. It also features an alder body, hard rock maple neck, slab rosewood board, medium jumbo frets, comfortable 1.625" nut width, and quality G&L hardware. Collector owned and maintained, the bass is in prestine condition as pictured (gloss black is tough to photograph, so any polishing swirls you see on the body are just light reflections). Bass plays and sounds great, tho the new owner should expect to setup the instrument to their personal playing preference after purchase. The bass will be shipped as pictured in a used Fender USA Jazz Bass Case by G&G to protect it during transit. The collectible case itself has been professionally toured in fair cosmetic condition, but the interior is like-new to nicely safeguard the bass for shipping and storage. "The active MJ-4 features G&L’s new Bi-coil Alnico V pickups and MJ-spec preamp/control system for a wide range of single-coil tones from classic jazz to far beyond, all without single-coil hum. A G&L Alnico Bi-coil pickup looks just like a classic Alnico single-coil, but under the cover are two side-by-side coils, configured in series-humbucking mode.

The pickups are optimized for a specially tuned version of G&L’s studio-quality M-spec preamp and control system, dubbed MJ-spec. The 18v system features volume, pan and +/-14dB 3-band EQ with center detents, and is powered by twin 9v batteries housed in an easy-access compartment. With an LF442 chip, 100v poly caps, 1% metal film resistors and big, fat signal traces on the mil-spec circuit board, this preamp reveals everything the player and the instrument have to offer.
