I am by no means an expert on Pre-War Archtops so please review everything carefully. What we appear to have here is a refinished 1942 Gibson L-50 with the slanted Logo. It does appear to still have many/most of the original parts but is missing at least the pickguard and strap button. But it does also include the original purple lined hardshell case which is surprising giving its an 80 year old instrument!
The body itself is in good shape. It does appear to have had two cracks on the side near the neck joint repaired as well as possible a repair to the neck heel as well. Both are solid and were done long ago. It also appears as if someone repainted it black as well. Its not perfect but its also not awful.
Fretboard has been cleaned up but theres still some grime still built into the frets. The frets do have wear to the first couple but I think its completely playable as is. Nut appears original. The Truss rod nut does not however. The neck is pretty straight for its age with a bit of an s curve more on the bass side on the body end. How its currently setup its action is pretty low with no dead frets. These were built with a pretty hard V shaped neck carve which is definitely different than modern acoustics.
The case is original and does show wear, missing the original handle as well. But it is still the original case so thats something.
Again Please review all pictures and ask any questions and I will do my best to answer or provide additional pictures if needed.
