Vincent Bach
Mt. Vernon
Bb Cornet Mouthpiece
Made c.1955
Stamped #8C
Plating Near 100% Intact
Sweet Tone!
Offered from my personal collection: this is an #8C cornet mouthpiece, made by Vincent Bach during his Mt. Vernon period. From the font style and puctuation it was likely made around 1955. The plating is near 100% intact. The only imperfections are a few marks and scuffs and a bit of wear on the edges of the cup.
It looks like the shank is drilled in steps. I've seen a few other vintage mouthpieces like this and they still play great. (See photo.)
The 8C is a hard to find cup that plays with a bright and sweet tone. Nice resonance! These vintage mouthpieces really have personality.
A great match for a vintage horn of the same period.
Thanks for looking and feel free to email if you have any questions.
