This is a vintage Oberheim OB-1 Early black version (circa 1977-1978). The OB-1 was introduced late 1977; a cosmetically updated OB-1a appeared in 1979. Contemporary histories note the OB-1 was shown in 1977 (Summer NAMM) but really hit the market in 1978, which is when most of the “black” units seem to have been produced. A cosmetically updated OB-1a appeared in 1979 (typically corresponds to the gray OB-1a refresh). This unit was last serviced (analog board) in 2024 by Rosen Sound in California. They do fantastic work! The OB-1 is the monophonic version of the Oberheim OB-X, with two VCOs and a Low Pass filter. It has 37 keys and also contains an envelope control for both the filter and amplitude. It's one of the first analog synthesizers capable of storing patches. This is a rare and cool piece of history! Operationally everything runs very well (Thanks to Rosen Sound). Sounds great! As this is vintage there are some minor scratches in the paint (near left controls under memory buttons), etc. Please see photos. Also comes with a high quality, high-density foam padded, soft nylon synth dust cover made in Portugal from stardust covers. Will be packed well. Vintage equipment may require tune ups etc. Seller is not responsible for shipping issues, no returns. I think you will be satisfied with this unit. Happy to perform any testing and upload videos prior to purchase. If you have questions feel free to ask in advance, happy to accommodate your requests or tests prior to shipping.
