For sale is this antique parlor guitar, built around 1900 in Germany. The label inside reads "Albert Heidegger." It is likely that this was the name of the seller or store, rather than the builder.

This little gem is crafted from beautiful woods, plays good and produces a rich sound with clear, ringing highs and a good amount of bass. It's a pleasure to listen to, with deep, resonant tones. And it's not quiet either!

The guitar features a finely grained spruce top, beautifully figured Brazilian rosewood back and sides, and spruce linings. The neck is made of maple with a pearwood fingerboard. While uncommon today, it was not unusual back then for guitars to be built with locally available materials.

The guitar does have some dings and repairs, but overall, it is in good condition. The top is straight, the action is good, and the bindings are tight all around. There was a crack in the back that was repaired a long time ago with fish glue. Although the repair isn't the most aesthetically pleasing, it is stable (I’ve had this guitar in my collection for four years now).

It still has the original brass frets, which have been leveled and polished, and they still have plenty of life left. There are two small repaired cracks in the top, one under and one above the bridge. The high E string tuner was repaired long ago, but it still seems to have the original axle and bone button, and it holds tuning very well.

When I played this guitar, it immediately reminded me of my Stauffer-style guitar, called "The Queen." The sound is nearly identical. That guitar has been recorded, and all the videos are available on my Facebook page and Instagram: Tony's Branch Guitars.

The guitar comes with a brand-new Gator parlor case. It is currently located in Amsterdam. I only ship with full insurance and ensure it is packed very carefully.
