The Martin 000-28EC is one of the most successful and best-selling signature guitar models, renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship and historical significance. This popular model is a finely detailed homage to the pre-war Martin guitar Eric Clapton famously played during his groundbreaking MTV Unplugged performance. Its 000 body size is designed to deliver a perfectly balanced tone across all six strings, with the East Indian rosewood back and sides providing a rich, resonant sound that complements the brightness and clarity offered by the spruce top.
A key feature of the 000-28EC is its 24.9" scale length, a shorter design preferred by Clapton, making it ideal for fingerstyle playing and expressive note bends. The neck, crafted from genuine mahogany and shaped into a modified V profile, provides both comfort and precise control for the player. Aesthetically, this guitar stands out with its aged toner top, intricate herringbone inlay, and full-gloss finish, adding a classic visual appeal to its remarkable sound.
Whether you're covering Clapton’s iconic songs or performing your own acoustic compositions, the 000-28EC embodies Clapton's profound influence on acoustic music. It delivers the same depth of tone and playability that helped define his legendary performance, making it a treasured instrument for musicians and collectors alike.
