This is a virtually unplayed Nadine microphone from local Portland OR legends Ear Trumpet Labs. Frankly not a better sounding upright bass mic out there. Functionally perfect, and the only cosmetic flaw here is on the case; a bit of adhesive was stuck to one side and it scored the red finish a bit when I tried to clean it off. Visible in the picture, but obviously has nothing to do with the functions of the microphone itself. Here's the description from their website:

Nadine is a medium-sized diaphragm condenser microphone specifically designed for use on double basses. The cardioid pattern provides a very natural sound by covering as much of the bass's surface as possible without making the placement too tight. The back of the microphone has very good radiating properties, which allows it to be used with stage monitors.  
The microphone consists of a housing that is attached to the tailpiece with an elastic Velcro fastener and a head that is easily attached between the strings above the tailpiece with a rubber grommet. The 14-inch Mogami cable that connects the two parts makes it easy to ideally place the microphone on any bass. Thanks to this fastening system, Nadine is not only easy to move from one instrument to another, but is also secure enough to remain permanently attached to a bass. After years of being asked for a microphone specifically tailored to the needs of acoustic double bass players, we believe we have found the best design yet for this demanding application.
