PRS DGT-15 David Grissom 15w Head Amp

At Palen Music Center, we are thrilled to offer the PRS DGT-15, a 15-watt tonal powerhouse that distills the magic of the highly coveted DG Custom 30 into a portable, lunchbox-style head. Born from a meticulous collaboration between David Grissom and amp designer Doug Sewell, this amplifier captures the soul of vintage amplification with modern reliability. It is designed to feel alive under your fingers, offering a dynamic response that cleans up beautifully with your guitar’s volume knob and roars into heavy overdrive when pushed. Whether you are chasing sparkling cleans or the harmonic richness of a cranked vintage circuit, the DGT-15 delivers a complexity that rivals amps twice its size.

The heart of the DGT-15’s "chewy" and responsive feel lies in its tube topology. Powered by a pair of EL84 power tubes, the amp delivers that classic British chime and aggressive midrange bark, while the GZ34 tube rectifier introduces natural compression and "sag" that makes every note feel connected to your pick attack. The preamp section utilizes a 12AX7 to shape the gain, with a 12AT7 phase inverter ensuring the signal hits the power section with perfect clarity. This cathode-biased design allows the tubes to run optimally for a warm, spongy feel that vintage amp enthusiasts crave, without the need for constant re-biasing.

Despite being a single-channel amplifier, the DGT-15 offers unprecedented versatility through its thoughtful control layout. It features a lush, old-school tremolo circuit that oscillates the power tube bias for a deep, throbbing effect, alongside a pristine on-board reverb. Unique sculpting tools—like a 3-position bright switch and a Master Volume that can be engaged solely when the Boost is active—allow you to tailor the amp's behavior to any guitar or venue. With the included footswitch putting Boost, Reverb, and Tremolo at your feet, the DGT-15 is a complete rig solution for the discerning player.
