Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a unique 1970's / 1980's era Electro Voice PL91 dynamic cardioid microphone based on the earlier E.V 671 model microphone with Low Impedance setting and perfect for singing as well as broadcasting as it was intended. This PL91 was virtually identical to the 671 except that the PL-91 has the painted olive green finish to reduce light glare as where the 671 model had the satin chrome finish. Otherwise both microphones were basically identical. This quality mic comes with a period E.V model mic clip, cable and black vinyl mic case in which to store the mic.

You'll see in pic # 2 the PL91 model with it's basic characteristics. The PL series mic stood for "Professional Line". A very high quality product that still sounds better than most dynamic cardioid mics made today. The mic is appx 6 1/4 inches long X 2 inches wide at the tip. Very lite weight and easy to hold for extended periods of time.

This PL-91 has a very nice sound and quite strong too with 100% output. The "cardioid" element has excellent uni-directional capabilities as well. A warm, smooth tone that has just the right amount of bass. Not as bass heavy as a Shure SM-58 though but very close.

As you can see in the pictures provided this mic is in very nice cosmetic condition with the only real wear coming in the form of a couple small small spots of lite discoloration. The stock painted handle is free of dents, fractures, scratches or pitting. The mesh grill looks very nice with zero deformation, corrosion, odors and a new inner foam liner / pop filter was installed as the original was all but gone.

The on / off switch slides smooth and works without issue. The mic has a small locking mechanism to the side of the switch as well if you want to keep the switch in the permanent on position.

Mic is solid with no loose or missing parts. The XLR connection was cleaned as well as it was quite filthy. She's good to go.

The mic comes with an XLR cable shown. It's appx 18 feet in length. Soft, pliable and free of any damage. It has the standard male 1/4 inch end connector as well for use with most audio equipment.

Mic also comes with the E.V model mic clip that grips the mic firmly and looks great. The joint mechanism has plenty of tension and is adjustable. It will screw onto any mic stand you have.

Last but nor least is the black vinyl mic case that's in very nice condition and a great place to store bot the mic and cable. It has a flap to close the case securely. The foam insert is in excellent condition and will keep the mic safe and snug inside.

Mic is an easy 9 cosmetically on a scale of 1 - 10 and sounds absolutely golden.

MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.

As with all my other vintage microphones...
