Another one of my guitars that again,rather shamefully ,was never gigged in my over 40 year tenure .

I bought from a friends relative all those years ago but just played it infrequently in my home environment.

Another one of my GAS ( Guitar Acquisition Syndrome ) moments.

So…..now is the time to let it go and for it to be properly used.

OK let’s start with the age ….I reckon it’s a 1973 …..although it’s a very woolly area to define exactly what year.

There are some pointers however :-

Number stamped on the back of the headstock ‘ 136730 ‘ & ‘ MADE IN USA ‘

’ Dot ’ of ‘ i ‘ in ’ Gibson ‘ on headstock

The Potentiometers :-

CTS - 1377323 - 23rd week of 1973

The guitar is in original condition ….so no neck breaks,repairs ,re-frets,original finish,original pick ups , potentiometers,wiring.Gibson De-Luxe tuners,bridge,tailpiece.

It has had a past life with dings and marks on the body , the reverse side has buckle marks,impressions but not too severe in my opinion,all commensurate with a guitar that’s over 50 years old which doesn’t effect the playability of the instrument.

Hard case provided but not an original for an SG type.

I have indicated local pick-up preferred to avoid damage etc but I have used Parcelforce in the past and they provided an excellent service so I would not be adverse to using that but the insurance cover would bump up the delivery fees somewhat.
