Very Nice 1957 Fender Duo Sonic with Black Finish

A killer playing and looking guitar from the 50s made by Fender. The previous owner sanded the neck finish off for their playing style. Unfortunately they sanded off the Fender decal on the headstock but the identifying dates are still there on the heel of the neck. The end of the neck has the month and year in pencil as Fender did in the factory at this time. (see photo)

Also the neck plate serial number dates this guitar as a 1957.

All electronics (PUs, wiring harness, switch and jack) are original as well as the killer aluminum pickguard.. The tuners were replaced with Fender branded tuners from the 70s . All are working great! The body looks to be a refin. There were not many Duo Sonic guitars in black from the factory. Good refin job too!

This comes with a nice original Fender Cheney case made in England. The case has some damage but not too bad as you can see. The middle clasp has a missing top part from the case ( small bit of wood too) and a small tear on the back tolex with a small piece of black end gone too. Otherwise, both of the spring loaded clasps at both ends work great and the condition of the case is very good for being 60+ years old.

Anyone who has held this guitar and played it, has commented on how good it sounds and feels. It really is a great guitar with loads of mojo! If you are into the shorter scale Fender guitars, this is the one. Totally killer!
