*WELCOME TO SHORESAX!*
Hello everyone!
My name is John Petrucelli and I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at Oberlin College & Conservatory. Hope this note finds everyone doing well!
For Sale is a rare, first series Taiwanese imprint Monique Alto Saxophone. This was a horn designed by French (read: Selmer) technicians and built in Taiwan in the 90s. The horn has full pearl touches and is modeled on a Super Action 80 with elements that reference the Series III and later Buffet horns.
This is a great instrument with a world class setup by NJ based tech Rich Casey that was built to offer Parisian design and sound for 1/5 the price! Many contemporary Taiwanese imprint brands are selling for 5K and up retail without any adjustment. Monique horns offer an extremely competitive alternative for a student or even a professional player who wants a backup or a platform to experiment!
This horn has a vibrant, bright, flexible sound and will support a range of different mouthpiece and reed combinations. It is sealing from top to bottom and will serve its owner well across a variety of different genres and styles!
