Sonicsmith Convertor

This is a pretty wild pedal. It will convert audio to cv, so that means whatever you plug into it, guitar, bass, microphone. It has a low pass filter that can be assigned to the input to help clean up the signal for conversion. The filter can also be switched to effect the internal 2 voice VCO. I got this to interface with my eurorack with my bass. The tracking is reasonable if the signal is an even fundamental, otherwise weird things happen, which can be fun and exciting.

There are a lot of ways this pedal could be used. It is a simple, all analog guitar or bass synth. It can send and receive cv pitch, envelope and gate. There is a side chain to the VCA to control volume from another source ( usually a kick drum, but don’t let me limit you). There is a thru jack to send the unaffected signal to your pedal board to blend in some fuzz ( I do recommend this, it will disguise tracking issues).

I have had many, many bass synth pedals, and I would qualify the tracking on this as average. I have two Industrial Radio midi basses now so this has just been sitting in the box. The silk screening on the faceplate is not amazing. I bought this direct from Sonicsmith and it just came to me kinda looking like it was used. Perhaps this is part of its ex-eastern block ambiance.
