Everything is original in excellent condition!
You can still see all the stickers under the bottom plate, serial number, even the sticker of the former music shop where it was bought from (Fairfield Music) in Southern California.
The Icar Pot is clean!!!!
There is one missing rubber bumper under the rocker.
One of the four bottom plate screws is permanently screwed in, the original owner used some sort of adhesive, but of course this won’t affect it’s incredible tone.
No other modern wah will ever capture the sound of a real vintage wah with a great clean Icar pot!
SOUNDS GORGEOUS!!!!
These wahs have a perfect little sweet spot where you can rock it back and forth and it starts talking to you. The Icar pot is really important!
Im not really a collector nor a pro player, so I can't justify keeping it. It would take years before you will find another one in excellent condition for a five decade old wah. This is a 54 year old historical wah made before the era of Vox Clyde McCoy Wahs. Jimi Hendrix also used this model.
This was bought from a guy who was selling antique products. He acquired this pedal through an estate sale.
Below is the information I got when I asked him about the owner of this pedal.
“He had a bunch of Musical Equipment. They had already sold off his instruments weeks prior. He had some good stuff though from what I heard including a few old Gibson's, a Sho-Bud Steel etc. Can’t give the info of the person for the privacy of his children. He had passed away and his kid was handling the selling of his things. The Estate sale was held in Redding, CA and I found several pieces of paper that suggested he wrote a lot of his own music. Old scratch pads from motels in the Stockton and Sacramento area. The kid was a white person, but I do not know the ethnicity. That is about all I can add. Thanks”
