Full "Batwing" Pickguard for Gibson 50s Tribute SG with P-90 soapbar pickups

Do you own a recent Gibson SG 50s Tribute with P-90 pickups and wish you could find a pickguard for it?
HERE IT IS!

Precision Guitar had several requests for a full face "batwing" style pickguard to retrofit the 24 fret 50s Tribute SG. Since these guitars do not come stock with a pickguard and the available aftermarket SG pickguards do not fit, we had to make a custom pickguard for the guitar. Now that we have a template, we can make one for you! This is not a "replacement" pickguard because these guitars never came with pickguards. This is a custom shape we designed specifically to fit. If your guitar currently has a pickguard, this is not the one for you. It will only fit the 50s Tribute, the 2018 Special with mini-humbuckers,  and probably the 2016 "SG Naked".

We cut these in our shop from 5 ply black and white material and ship it with eleven smaller "Gibson size" pickguard screws.
You will have to drill the holes in the guitar for the screws. Gibson sometimes does not cleanup the end of the fingerboard area on their guitars. You may have to do some glue or finish cleanup on the guitar, or some light sanding to the pickguard. Also important: On some guitars the bridge height adjustment thumbwheels will sit too low for the pickguard. If this is the case, we recommend the smaller style pickguard in our other listing, or we can enlarge the holes in the pickguard for the bridge height inserts.
To check your height, see if you can slide two stacked pennies just under the bottom of the thumbwheels under the bridge. If they won't slide under, the pickguard will be too thick and will need to be modified. If you have a question about fitting or installing this pickguard to your SG, please ask before ordering.
