This is my Blue Lion IIRS mountain dulcimer. I'm putting it up for sale because I don't play it enough lately and would like to turn it over to invest in a better guitar than I have now.
The condition of the instrument is excellent and it has been well-cared for. I am the first owner and it has been case kept since I purchased it. There is some wear from normal play, but other than that it's fairly pristine. No scratches, dings, dents, or cracks, however there is a slight marr on the bottom of the instrument that has been there since I purchased it. It's fairly minor, and not even easy to photograph, but it is there and I want to be upfront about it. The strings are about 2 months old. The included case is specific for this model and is also in excellent condition with very little wear and no major damage.
As far as the instrument is concerned, this is the flagship model from Blue Lion, with the addition of the custom brass rosette soundhole covers. These were a premium option and are no longer offered, hence they are fairly uncommon and highly sought after. Build date was 11/15/00 and serial # 3086. The build details include East Indian Rosewood sides and back; Western Red Cedar soundboard; bookmatched back, sides, top and peghead; Honduras mahogany fingerboard with rosewood overlay; rose inlay in mother of pearl, abalone and brass; inlaid wood marquetry backstrip on rosewood models; satin lacquer finish; ebony nut and saddle; scroll peg head w/ planetary tuners; and the custom brass rosette soundhole covers. All Blue Lion dulcimers are completely handmade in small quantities, are generally considered the creme de la creme of mountain dulcimers, and this model is the best one they make.
Included with the instrument is the hard case pictured, plus a few dulcimer picks and a humidifier.
