c1948 Epiphone B5 upright bass fiddle. Made in New York.
Laminated body with spruce top and flame maple back & sides; maple neck with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. Fancy engraved Kluson tuners. Repairs to scroll & neck, edges of body. Has original tail pin and emblem ("bikini" logo) on tail piece. Plays & sounds awesome!!
Former Gibson president Ted McCarthy is noted for saying that Epiphone made the finest basses in N. America (although he wouldn't admit that Epi also made the finest archtop guitar. haha :)
