This guitar also features what is referred to as the All-Gold Finish.
Unlike most examples which feature a Natural Mahogany Body and Neck
this guitar’s Neck and Body have been finished in the same Gold as the
Top of the Guitar.
This is also one of the very rare
"all gold" Les Pauls, a non-catalog variation that inexplicably pops up
on some guitars from this period but is much rarer then the standard
natural
back and sides usually encountered.
According to Gibson’s Records 862 Les Paul Standard Model Guitars were shipped in 1955.
1955 marks the pinnacle of the Les Paul Goldtop with wrap around bridge
and P90s. Gibson had perfected the design, the neck angle, the headstock
pitch, and the stop tail wrap around bridge.
All that glitters is surely gold and if gold is what you seek you will not be disappointed with this near mint example...
