I will deliver this double bass FREE in US states within 120 miles of zip code 44286!
The label inside gives Serial #955510, and Model #892L, neither of which I can find anywhere in my web searches. I've read from others that this was a European-made student model from a company called International Strings. I've tried to read the hand-written date, but it could be 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997 or maybe none of those! (A similar model sold by Upton had a serial number about 7000 digits below this one, and that one was listed as 1987, so my best estimate is 1992.)
When I bought it several years ago the top had some noticeable cracks on the left side of the top. I took it to Peter Horn (ex-Scherl & Roth) for full repairs seven years ago. He took care of the top cracks, added an adjustable bridge and new strings. As he predicted, it sounds better each year. He tells me it is a carved top, with flat back. (I primarily play electric and thought I would be keeping this forever. I just don't play it enough to justify holding on to it and would rather it be in a home or studio or school where it can be enjoyed.) Included: Fully adjustable Ingles floor stand and padded carry case, both with bow holder.
Upper Bout (widest): 20 1/4″
Lower Bout (widest): 25 5/8″
C Bout (narrowest): 14 1/8″
Rib Taper: 5 3/8″ to 7 3/8″
String Length: 40 5/8″
