I’m selling my beloved Shure KSM44A as I’ve moved on from recording voice-overs and audiobooks. It’s been a valued part of my recording setup, and I’d love to see it go to someone who will put it to good use, rather that sat in drawer and not used.
For anyone building a serious voice recording setup, the KSM44A is a lovely microphone to consider. Its low self-noise is particularly useful for capturing the quieter details of spoken-word performances, from intimate narration to the pauses that give an audiobook room to breathe. I have to say, this microphone made my voice sound so much better than I believed it could.
It’s also a versatile studio microphone, with selectable cardioid, omnidirectional and figure-of-eight patterns for different recording situations.
