The tone is smooth and flattering. The top end is silky with no harshness, and there’s only a slight lift in the upper mids, so vocals sit forward in the mix without sounding sharp. The capsule sits in a copper and brass head basket on a heavy brass pivot. That pivot lets you use it end-address or side-address, so it’s easy to aim in tight spots. Every ETL mic is built by hand from vintage-style hardware, so no two look exactly alike.
