Another Brand New Old Stock Guitar. We just picked this one up from a shop that held it for three years...

Its a 2023 Fender American Performer Telecaster with a Fender Humbucker in the Neck and a Tele Single Coil in the Bridge...Its in beautiful Aubergine which is a Fender Color. Here's some info on that color...

Fender's Aubergine color is a deep, rich metallic purple finish named after the French word for eggplant. Characteristics of Aubergine

• Appearance: It is a dark, metallic purple tone that often shifts slightly depending on the lighting, appearing deeper and more purple than classic shades like Candy Apple Red.
• Pairings: It is commonly paired with a rosewood fingerboard and typically complemented by a contrasting pickguard.
• Models: Fender introduced the Aubergine finish primarily on the American Performer series, including models like the Fender American Performer Stratocaster HSS, the Fender American Performer Telecaster Hum, and the American Performer Mustang Bass.
• According to a general consensus on Reddit, players consider it one of Fender's more understated, classy, and unique metallic colors.

When we got the guitar, the pickguard had many pick scratches from being played in the shop. We replaced it with a new pickguard. It looks better now. Our Tech refreshed the beautiful Rosewood Neck and set it up with a new set of 9 guage strings...Its plays as good as it sounds...

The Fender American Performer Telecaster is a USA-made electric guitar (handcrafted in Corona, California) that bridges classic Fender styling with modern features.

Key Specifications

• Body Material: Alder with a gloss finish (available in finishes like Honeyburst, Vintage White, Penny, Aubergine and Satin Sonic Blue).
• Neck: Maple with a modern "C" shape and a satin urethane finish.
• Fingerboard: Maple or rosewood with a 9.5-inch radius and a 25 1/2 inch scale.
• Frets: 22 jumbo frets.
• Pickups: Yosemite single-coil Telecaster pickups, or a "Tele Hum" variant featuring an American Performer DoubleTap humbucker in the neck position.
• Bridge: 3-saddle vintage-style string-through-body bridge with brass barrel saddles.
• Electronics: Master volume, 3-position blade switch, and a Greasebucket tone circuit that rolls off high frequencies without adding bass or losing volume.
• These Performer Series guitars started in 2018 and continued thru early 2026. It is being replaced by the Fender American Professional Classic series of guitars.

This guitar sounds awesome. The Fender Humbucker gives this Tele so much more versatality and sounds great blended with the Single Coil in the middle position. Switch it all the way back to the bridge and you have all the Tele Scream you could ask for with this Single Coil Pickup. What a pleasure to play!
