Here’s a 1997 Fender Japan ST-54DEX2 ‘54 Reissue Stratocaster in Black, featuring one of the nicest chunky V-shaped necks I’ve played on a Fender in a long time!
The guitar remains completely original, including all pickups, electronics, hardware, and untouched factory solder joints.
The body and neck are in good condition overall, with scattered surface scratches, small dings, and scuffs consistent with nearly 30 years of honest use. Nothing major or structural whatsoever. See photos.
The standout here is the chunky ‘54-style V neck, which feels absolutely fantastic paired with the vintage 7.25” fingerboard radius. Easily one of the best-feeling Fender necks I’ve played in quite some time!
The frets are in very good condition with no major pitting and a conservative 80% life remaining at the lowest point. Many years of playing ahead before a refret would be necessary.
Mechanically, everything is sound, with low action, no buzzing, and excellent playability throughout the neck.
Includes a free gig bag and professional setup with .010 gauge strings before shipping.
