Selling my Gibson Murphy Lab 1955 J-45 Light Aged. Condition is marked at excellent with the understanding that this is a factory aged guitar.

I’ve owned several vintage J-45s and J-50s from this era, and the Murphy Lab really does an incredible job of recreating the sound and feel of these guitars without some of the quirks (or price tag) that can come with the real vintage stuff.

This guitar has a mid-’50s Gibson neck profile that, in my opinion, is a great balance: nice and full without being cumbersome. The aging is tastefully done, with authentic-looking finish checking and minor wear. The action is great as it sits, but there’s plenty of room left on the saddle if you prefer to dial it in to your own taste.

Sonically, this one has a strong, powerful voice, but it can absolutely do the mellow stuff too. It currently has a brand-new LR Baggs HiFi-DNA pickup installed. A strap pin has been installed at the neck heel. Comes with the original case, case candy, and Murphy Lab Certificate of Authenticity.
