Description:

Up for sale is a preowned 1960s Norma Violin Guitar in Sunburst. This is one of the more unusual Japanese catalog electrics of the era, with a violin-inspired semi-hollow body, arched top and back, dual F-holes, and a tremolo tailpiece. The six-string guitar is more rare than the similar violin basses sold during the same period, making it a fun piece of 1960s Japanese guitar history.

The Norma features a semi-hollow violin-shaped body with two single-coil pickups, a floating bridge, and vintage tremolo system. Other period-correct details include the sculpted violin-style headstock and distinctive “N” fingerboard position markers found on these Norma models. Surviving examples are often identified as the EG-675-2HTG.

This example is in good vintage condition with visible finish cracks and other normal marks from age and use, but there are no cracks or structural damage to the body. The tremolo arm is a replacement. The D-string tuner is somewhat stiff compared with the others but functions properly and holds tuning well. Overall, this is a clean, functional example for a guitar approaching 60 years old, with the cosmetic aging giving it plenty of authentic vintage character.
