Fender Custom Shop Master Built Dennis Galuszka 59 Precision Bass Relic - 3-Tone Sunburst

Built by Fender Custom Shop Master Builder Dennis Galuszka, this vintage-spec Precision Bass captures the character and soul of a great early year P-Bass while benefiting from the precision of modern Custom Shop craftsmanship. The alder body wears a classic Sunburst finish that perfectly complements the four-ply tortoise pickguard and vintage-inspired aging. The quartersawn maple neck and AAA rosewood fingerboard create an unmistakably classic combination, while the 60 P-Bass Oval “C” neck profile has been shaped to feel like a well-loved vintage instrument. With a comfortable 9.5" radius, this bass has the familiar authority and presence players expect from a serious Precision Bass.

The attention to detail continues throughout the hardware and appointments. A four-ply tortoise pickguard gives the bass a beautifully aged, period-appropriate appearance, while the relic’d P/J Bass bridge adds another layer of vintage character. Underneath it all is a hand-wound ’62 P-Bass pickup, voiced to deliver the unmistakable combination of low-end authority, midrange punch and woody articulation that made the Precision Bass the foundation of countless recordings. Medium Jumbo frets offer a slightly more substantial playing surface without compromising the effortless feel of the vintage-inspired neck.

Most importantly, this is a bass built to feel lived-in from the very first note. The unfinished heavy relic neck has the broken-in sensation of an instrument that has been played for decades, with the kind of natural, immediate response that only comes from exceptional craftsmanship and careful aging. At 9.1 lbs., it has the reassuring heft of a serious Precision Bass while remaining comfortable enough for long sessions. This Dennis Galuszka Masterbuilt is a deeply convincing interpretation of a vintage P-Bass, combining the timeless look of a classic Sunburst, hand-wound electronics and an exceptionally tactile neck with the uncompromising build quality of the Fender Custom Shop.
