Up for sale is a late-vintage Neumann U 87 i condenser microphone from 1985 (Serial #43085) in excellent functional and aesthetic condition.

This is a rare, complete "Collector & Studio Grade" package featuring its original, serial-matched Neumann outer cardboard shipping carton and styrofoam insert—a piece of factory packaging that is almost never preserved with vintage units.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS & PROVENANCE:

• Fully Matched Serial Provenance: Serial #43085 is stamped directly into the microphone's lower chassis brass ring, matching 100% with the original factory label on the outer cardboard box (Cat. No. 10241 003 / Schaltplan 10241 90121).

• Freshly Serviced & Studio Ready: Recently benchmarked and serviced by an experienced technician with a factory-correct switch replacement.

• Original Pre-Ai Transformer Circuit: Features the highly sought-after original FET circuit with the custom Haufe output transformer ("Circuit Diagram 21"), discrete West German WIMA/ROE capacitors, and the original 4-wire K87 dual-backplate capsule.

• Immaculate Internal Health: The internal PCB, battery compartment, and frame are exceptionally clean with zero battery leak corrosion, burnt traces, or aftermarket circuit modifications.

• Clean Outer Sleeve: The matte nickel body sleeve has been gently cleaned and displays a light, uniform vintage patina matching its 40-year history.
