Breedlove 2023 Breedlove Pursuit Exotic S Concert PB CE – Solid Myrtlewood – Prairie Burst 2023 - Prairie Burst

🎸 Breedlove Pursuit Exotic S Concert PB CE — 2023

Solid Myrtlewood Top | Prairie Burst | Excellent Condition

👋 First Impression

Here's a Breedlove that caught my attention for a couple of reasons.

First, there's that rich Prairie Burst finish. Depending on the light, it moves between reddish burgundy and deep purple, with some lovely wood grain showing through.

Then there's the myrtlewood. It's an interesting alternative to the more familiar spruce, mahogany, and rosewood combinations.

Add the attractive trim and comfortable Concert body, and you've got a guitar with plenty of personality.

🎶 Who It's For

This is a nice choice for someone who wants a comfortable, good-looking acoustic-electric without spending a fortune.

The Concert body is manageable, the cutaway is useful, and the Fishman electronics make it easy to plug in.

🎵 How It Plays

The action is set at:

2.25 mm bass / 1.75 mm treble at the 12th fret.

These are comfortable acoustic-guitar measurements, and the neck and cutaway make this a pleasant design to spend time with.

🌳 How It Sounds — And What's Special About Myrtlewood

Myrtlewood grows along the Pacific Coast and is an interesting choice for acoustic instruments.

It's often described as offering warmth, clarity, and a balanced response.

This guitar has a solid myrtlewood top, paired with layered EcoTonewood myrtlewood back and sides.

Breedlove's layered construction should not be confused with an all-solid instrument. I prefer to make that distinction clear.

👋 A Little About Me

I'm a retired guitar enthusiast here on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

I enjoy finding interesting instruments, spending some time getting acquainted with them, and eventually passing them along to another player.

Some folks collect stamps. Apparently, I collect guitars that eventually have to leave the house!

I try to describe each instrument as carefully as I can, photograph it thoroughly, and answer questions honestly.
