The Trident A Range 500 Series Mic Pre brings the unmistakable tone of the original A Range console into a compact 500 series format. It captures the character that made those desks so desirable: warm, detailed, slightly forward, and effortlessly musical.

This is not a sterile utility preamp. It has the kind of all-discrete sound that gives microphones a sense of size, presence, and authority without feeling overly hyped. There is a subtle thickness through the mids, a smooth but open top end, and the kind of depth that works beautifully on vocals, drums, guitars, bass, and other key sources that need to feel alive in a mix.

Part of the appeal here is how naturally it balances colour and clarity. It can add weight and personality, but it still behaves like a serious studio tool rather than a one-trick character box. Whether you are tracking clean acoustic material or pushing a source into something more assertive and classic-sounding, the A Range Mic Pre delivers that familiar Trident-style confidence.
