Up for sale is a Gibson 2011 Les Paul Custom B7 that has undergone the Historic Makeovers RDS treatment.

It is about as authentic as it can get to a true vintage 1957 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty but at a fraction of the cost.

This Black Beauty started life as a 2011 Les Paul Custom B7 in Wildwood Spec with a one-piece solid, non-weight relieved mahogany body with carved mahogany top.

It was then sent to Kim Lafleur of Historic Makeovers for their highest grade Real-Deal-Series (RDS) treatment and the works were completed in 2012.

The works included neck reset with hot hide glue, truss rod condom removal, refret and rebind and replaced ebony fretboard with hot hide glue construction and real Mother-of-Pearl inlays, top re-carve, neck re-carve, and finally a full refinish with correct 50's formula nitro with light-aging.

This guitar serves as an upgrade to my Les Paul Studio. In order to reproduce the same tone, the pickups from the LP Studio (i.e. Gibson 490R and 498T pickup set) were lifted and put into this beauty.

Beside the pickups, these parts were also upgraded:

- "Dr. V" (Doctor Vintage) pots

- NOS (New Old Stock) Sprague Vitamin Q paper-in-oil (PIO) capacitors

- Montreux Toggle Switch Washer and Nut

- Upgraded aged switch tip

- Aged pointers

- Upgraded Thumbwheels

- Throbak aged black CAB pickup rings

- and parts were replaced/upgraded where Kim saw fits

This beauty is lightweight for a Les Paul Custom and weighs only 8.6lb on my bathroom scale. It comes with Wildwood-badged original hardshell case, Gibson COA, HM COA, hangtags and paper.

Neck thickness 1st fret 0.97”, 12th fret 1.01“

To ensure safe transport, the switchtip and end strap-pin will be removed+bagged and be placed inside the case's compartment.
