If you are looking for a killer burst reissue with killer specs than look no further cause you just found it. Japan always gets the very best guitars that Gibson Custom builds and this one looks so close to an original its just amazing in every way.
This is just one of seven guitars built for a dealer order in Japan to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the 1959 Gibson Les Paul standard. If you look at the spec sheet this one is ultra aged in house by the folks at Gibson Custom. 2019 was the very last year for Gibson in house aging and just when they finally had the aging process perfected the program was ended in favor of the Murphy Lab. Ultra Aged back in 2019 is what the Murphy Lab now calls Ultra Heavy Aged.
Why is this one killer? If you read the spec sheet Gibson aged this one spot on to Slash’s first standard sporting a Collectors Choice #35 Gruhn Burst double dirty lemon finish, exposed Custombucker pickups, and a hand selected top. The Carmelita neck is without doubt the best neck ever put on a reissue. This one looks so close to an original its stupid.
The guitar is in as mint condition with all the factory hang tags, aged case, Japanese warranty card, Gibson warranty card, aged pickup covers, 60th anniversary gold COA, Japanese “hand selected” COA, black switch cover, aged case and shipping carton. It also comes with a Beauty Of The Burst book in Japanese language sighed by Yasuhiko Iwanade.
**Out of all the 60th Anniversary guitars built ONLY these 7 guitars came with the signed copy of the BOTB book signed by Yasuhiko Iwanade in Japanese Language!
The guitar weighs 8 pounds 13.5 ounces and just screams with vintage tone. It feels so comfortable up and down the neck with nice low slinky action and plays like butter. When you get your hands around this one if it is not the best playing, sounding, and most authentic looking reissue you ever held then I will eat a bug!
