Super cool Terada-made ES-175 copy from 1995 History brand. All original, came with single Bartolini pickup configuration, very transparent sounding plugged in. From research I found this guitar has a solid, carved spruce top giving it a unique sound, kind of more mid-focused, and “throaty“ than the standard laminate archtops, with a thunk-y attack and notes that decay beautifully into the upper harmonics. Really cool details, like the ebony bridge and the darkest rosewood board I’ve seen. The price may seem high for a copy, but once you have it in your hand you will know why. It simply has “it”. The lacquer finish is so thin it’s like bare wood. Great acoustic sound, very nice projection as the floating pickup doesn’t dampen the top from vibrating. Professionally setup and plays great with nice low action. I’ve played many ES-175s, including a Tokai I’ve owned and a real vintage Gibsons in the shop. This one comes closest to the original 1951 Gibson ES-175 I played at Chicago Music Exchange, still the best guitar I’ve ever played. The neck is a nice medium C, not really overly thick or thin. The feel of this one is very vintage due to the old wood used, History uses Heritage wood in its guitars so it feels vintage from the start. And this one is actually vintage by now too. Note there is a scratch on the back of the headstock, I have had this checked out professionally and it is not a break or crack. Hardshell case will be included. Thanks for looking!
