Yamaha YHR-314II Single French Horn – Excellent Condition, Freshly Serviced, Perfectly In Tune, Ready to Play, Priced to Sell

This Yamaha YHR-314II single horn is in excellent playing shape, and it sounds incredible. You’ll see normal scratches and scuffs, plus a few insignificant, hardly noticeable dings. None of that affects the sound at all. It went through a full professional service recently, I checked it afterward, and it’s perfectly in tune. The slides pull freely, the valves move smoothly, and nothing feels sticky or half-adjusted. The tone is warm and centered with good projection, the usual Yamaha single-horn voice that sits easily in a band.

Soft playing still speaks instead of dying, and the upper end stays focused without getting thin. Low notes come out freely. The range feels even, so nothing jumps out as hard to control once you’re past the usual single-horn notes. It’s ready to play. It absolutely won’t need a shop visit before rehearsal or a concert.

The YHR-314II is Yamaha’s standard single F horn, the model a lot of middle school and early high school programs put in kids’ hands before they step up to a double. It’s an F horn, not F/Bb, so the layout is simpler and lighter, which is why directors like it for first and second year players. Yamaha built these for consistent pitch, a comfortable hand position, and a centered sound that blends in concert band without a lot of fuss. They hold up well with regular use, and a clean playing example is harder to find than the beat-up rental horns that have been passed around for years. If someone is still on a single and wants one that already works, this is the model most band rooms already know.

If you want an excellent YHR-314II that’s already been fully serviced, in tune, and sounds incredible, this one’s ready. It’s priced to sell. Happy to answer questions!
