TASCAM Porta 03 Ministudio – Tested, Serviced & Tape Speed Calibrated

(Contact me for more accurate shipping rates)

Classic TASCAM Porta 03 Ministudio 4-track cassette recorder in good cosmetic condition.

The unit has been fully tested and is functioning correctly (except for one issue - see below). Several electrolytic capacitors have been replaced as part of its servicing, and the tape speed has been calibrated using a 3 kHz calibration tape.

Tested functions:

• All 4 tracks record and playback correctly
• PLAY / STOP / PAUSE functions correctly
• Fast Forward / Rewind functions correctly
• VU meters working
• Inputs and outputs tested and working
• Tape transport functioning correctly
• Tape speed calibrated with a 3 kHz calibration tape

Cosmetic condition:
Good overall condition for its age. There are some scratches on the sides of the unit, visible in the photos.

Known issue – PHONES volume control:
The PHONES volume control crackles when turned. The original potentiometer is no longer manufactured, and I was unable to find a suitable NOS replacement.

The crackling occurs only while adjusting the headphone volume. It does not affect the audio signal during recording or playback, and the headphone output itself works normally once the volume is set.

Included:

• TASCAM Porta 03 Ministudio
• Original power adapter with UK plug
• UK-to-EU plug adapter

Please look carefully at the photos for the cosmetic condition and read the description regarding the known PHONES volume control issue. This is a used vintage electronic device and is sold with the issue described above.

Please feel free to ask any questions about the unit. If the shipping cost seems too high, you can also contact me and I can check which actual shipping rates are available for your country. I will in any case refund the difference in shipping costs.
