A great example of a '90s Japanese-made Orville Les Paul, featuring one of the coolest Flame tops we've had in. The quilt pattern really comes alive under different lighting and gives the guitar a much more dramatic look in person.

Orville was Gibson's Japan-market line, produced during the late '80s and '90s as a more authentic alternative to the many Japanese Les Paul-style guitars available at the time. These guitars were officially licensed by Gibson and built in Japan using traditional Les Paul construction and Gibson specs. The LPS-80F was one of the more visually distinctive models in the lineup.

This guitar is in good technical condition and plays great. The pickups and electronics appear to be original.

Sonically, it sounds excellent - big, loud and punchy, with plenty of output and definition. It has that full Les Paul sound but still cuts through really well, making it an easy fit for anything from cleaner sounds to heavier rock tones.

The frets are in good condition with even wear and no deep grooves. The guitar is currently set up with low action and plays cleanly without excessive buzzing or dead spots

Cosmetically, it shows plenty of honest signs of use, including numerous dings, chips, scratches and general play wear throughout. There are also a couple of small finish cracks/checks around the neck joint area. These appear to be limited to the finish and are a common sight on older set-neck guitars as the finish and wood naturally age. The neck joint itself is solid, with no movement or signs of structural damage. Nothing unusual for a nearly 30-year-old guitar that has actually been played. Please check the photos carefully for the exact condition.

There are also a few additional strap-button holes on the body from previous owners. Why people occasionally decide their guitar needs another strap-button hole is beyond us, but here we are :)

Overall, this is a great player with plenty of character and mojo, a killer sounding set of original-style humbuckers, and Flame quilt top that absolutely pops in person.

No case included.

The following work has been done: full fretboard conditioning with lemon oil, fret polish, pickup height adjustment for balance and clarity, and a fresh set of 10-46s installed.
