I’m downsizing my collection, so a few special guitars are now looking for a new home.
For sale is an exceptionally well-kept Ernie Ball Music Man Silhouette HSH Piezo from 2011 in Vintage Sunburst. This is a particularly interesting and relatively rare version featuring the original HSH configuration with DiMarzio pickups as well as the factory-installed Piezo system. The original Music Man hardshell case is also included.
The factory Piezo system is one of the key features of this Silhouette. Unlike the much more commonly offered standard HSH versions, this model is additionally equipped with Piezo elements integrated into the bridge saddles. The magnetic pickups and Piezo system can be used separately or together. This expands the already very broad tonal range of the Silhouette with clear, acoustic-inspired sounds. Piezo versions are comparatively rare on the used market.
The original HSH configuration consists of two DiMarzio Virtual PAF humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions, together with a DiMarzio Custom single-coil in the middle position. Combined with the 5-way switching, this provides an extremely versatile range of sounds, from classic humbucker tones to clear in-between positions and more transparent sounds.
With its 25.5" scale length, 24 frets, 10" fretboard radius, and the typically compact Music Man body, the Silhouette offers a direct and comfortable playing feel. The oiled and waxed maple neck with rosewood fretboard features the characteristic narrow Music Man nut width of 41.3 mm.
The guitar is in near-mint condition and has been treated accordingly with great care.
