The Schecter Reaper-6 Satin Charcoal Burst is a modern 6-string solid-body electric guitar designed especially around rock, metal, hard rock, and fast-playing styles. It has a fairly aggressive look, but its electronics give it more versatility than a dedicated metal-only guitar

• Reaper-6 — six-string model from Schecter's Reaper series.
• Swamp Ash Body — the main body wood. It's relatively resonant and tends to provide a combination of brightness, warmth, and pronounced midrange.
• Burl Top — the body has a decorative burl top that gives it the distinctive charcoal/burl appearance.
• Diamond Decimator Humbuckers — Schecter's high-output passive humbuckers. There are two: bridge and neck. They're intended to produce strong, aggressive tones while remaining usable for other rock/fusion sounds.
• Satin Charcoal Burst — the dark, satin finish/color.
• Hardtail Bridge — unlike the Reaper-6 FR versions, this standard Reaper-6 doesn't have a Floyd Rose tremolo. The strings go through the body, which keeps the bridge relatively straightforward and stable.

The neck is particularly geared toward fast playing: it's an ultra-thin C profile, with a 14" radius and 24 extra-jumbo frets.

What does the push-pull knob do?

The tone control is push-pull, allowing you to split the humbuckers for a more single-coil-like sound. So you can get the thick humbucker sound for high gain and then switch to a thinner/brighter sound for cleaner or lower-gain playing.

What does it sound like?

Think:

Bridge humbucker → tight, powerful, aggressive distortion
Neck humbucker → thicker/smoother lead and rhythm tones
Coil split → brighter, thinner tones for cleans and lighter rock

It's particularly well suited to metal, hard rock, progressive metal, alternative metal, and rock, but you aren't locked into those genres.
