The Gibson SJ200, with its substantial size and lavish ornamentation, has long been known as the King of Flattops. When designing this parlor, the Custom Shop in Bozeman, Montana, looked carefully to their top-of-the-line model, because this really is a scaled-down version of it.
The J200 Parlor boasts the exact same features as its bigger brother, but in a smaller size. Gibson has fitted it with a flamed maple body and a Sitka spruce top with scalloped X-bracing. The body has shrunk in width from roughly 17 inches to 15 inches while keeping almost the same depth, which gives the guitar a wonderfully mature sound with deep bass and beautiful note articulation. Thanks to the LR Baggs Element VTC pickup, it is just as easy to use amplified.
The Antique Natural nitrocellulose-finished body features the signature engraved pickguard and mustache bridge, while the neck is adorned with mother-of-pearl fingerboard inlays and binding to match the body. As you would expect from Gibson, this guitar is exceptionally playable, and its shorter scale length makes it a comfortable size.
However you play this small flattop, it sounds rich and deep, equally suited to simple chords and extended leads. It comes supplied in a hardshell case with a certificate of authenticity.
This guitar has been carefully inspected for condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
