The quintessential Gibson Les Paul 50s model.
The rare cherry top is stunning!
The 1959 Standard model is arguably the flagship among Les Paul models.
This Regu model has undergone numerous transformations before reaching its current configuration.
While retaining the basic structure—maple top, mahogany back, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard—the details have been upgraded.
The mahogany back, which at one point had a hollowed-out interior, has been restored to the original solid construction.
The wide Nashville-style bridge has been replaced with a vintage-style ABR-1 model featuring body anchors.
The tailpiece has been changed from a heavy alloy version to a lightweight aluminum one.
The tailpiece studs are short but made of steel.
The tuning peg buttons now feature a more authentic color.
It’s a small detail, but the jack plate has also been changed back from metal to a plastic part.
The guitar is equipped with Burstbucker pickups.
As the product name “50S” suggests, improvements aimed at achieving vintage specifications have been made throughout the instrument.
The top features a cherry finish, familiar from 1960s ES-335s and similar models.
While a few Les Pauls with cherry tops did exist in the 1950s as rare color variations, this finish is extremely rare.
It also resembles “Lucy,” the guitar Eric Clapton gave to George Harrison.
This particular guitar features a flat-grained top with slightly larger flame patterns that softly emerge when viewed from different angles.
With the deep hue of cherry and its wild yet understated grain, this is a truly sophisticated instrument.
It’s highly recommended not only for Beatles fans but also for anyone looking for a Gibson Les Paul that stands out from the crowd.
