Absolutely stunning, rare vintage Gretsch 6199 Sal Salvador Sunburst Hollowbody in unbelievably immaculate condition. It almost looks new. A true time capsule piece.

This iteration of the instrument features the suspended Filter’Tron pickup mounted to a sweeping Art Deco pickguard, along with dedicated volume and tone controls. The original compensated bridge is crafted from ebony, while the stamped “G”-branded gold tailpiece, gold Imperial tuners, and gold knurled strap buttons are all original to the instrument. According to Jay Scott’s The Guitars of the Fred Gretsch Company (page 177), this model was fitted with hardware consisting of 24K-gold-plated metal parts.

This model was originally intended to compete with Gibson's 17" wide L7CE. As it evolved eventually ceasing production in 1967, it was one of the more expensive guitars in the Gretsch lineup including the Country Club, the Eldorado, the Viking and the Country Gentleman. You will be very hard pressed to find another in this condition.
