Vintage 1989 Ibanez RG-550 in very rare "Desert Yellow" Finish!

This is a fantastic early model with the black headstock in incredibly fine condition. Many would think of this model as the "poor man's Jem" as it has the same Desert Yellow finish and maple board - in our opinion, these 550's are in a class of their own. Pure bare-bones ROCK machines!

This killer 550 is 100% factory original! The original USA made DiMarzio humbuckers sound insanely good. These are rarely available for sale and getting more collectable by the day, the late 80's and early 90's were the hey-day of Ibanez quality and craftsmanship.   The RG-550 was one of the high-end flagship guitars of the RG line.   Killer neck profiles, great hardware. This example is in very fine playing condition with a recent pro-setup. The action is low, buttery and effortless.

It is structurally sound and has only a few very minor signs of play-wear. There are some minor dings to the rims (pictured and very common on these) as well as one small ding in the clear-coat by the arm rest area. Otherwise VERY clean. There are NO stress cracks coming off the back of the nut (beyond common on these guitars) which is GREAT news.

These are fantastic guitars, on par with the likes of Suhr guitars and best guitars coming out of Japan today.

The original black tolex / black plush lined Ibanez embossed case is included as pictured! Also included is a brand new neon-green DiMarzio Clip-Lock strap, because OF COURSE you need that!!
