Sonoris Multiband Compressor 3 Band Mastering Plug-in (Activation Card)

The Sonoris Multiband Compressor is a three band compressor built for mastering. Sonoris describe it as an ultra clean processor suitable for delicate material, and that is the whole design brief: it is meant to be transparent rather than to add character.

Each of the three bands runs the same engine as the Sonoris Mastering Compressor, so you are getting three instances of a mastering grade compressor rather than a simplified multiband version of one.

The crossovers are Linkwitz-Riley filters, chosen so the bands mix back flat and avoid the phase cancellation problems that make some multiband processors sound hollow. There is also a LINEAR PHASE crossover mode, which removes crossover colouration entirely at the cost of latency.

The controls go deeper than most. Threshold from -60 dBFS to 0, a knee adjustable across 100 steps from hard to soft, and a SECOND KNEE that brings the ratio back toward 1:1 above the threshold, also across 100 steps. Feedback and feedforward detector types. Selectable auto release from 0.5 to 5 seconds, programme dependent.

For stereo work there is Variable Link, adjustable from fully linked to fully split, and Highest Link, which links the sidechains to the higher of the two channels. You can compress and monitor stereo, left, right, Mid or Side independently, solo bands, and run 2x, 4x, 8x or automatic upsampling.
